I love when friends of friends become friends. QB Tyler was the DJ during 5-4-Friday over at Quintessential last week. She shared songs that inspire her and that she writes to.
Her latest book "Unconditonal" released March13th. It's a taboo romance that's on my TBR. Check it out!
Q: Author: dream job or never expected to be doing this?
It’s funny, my dad used to say when I was a kid that he thought I would eventually write books… I guess parents really do know our destiny before we do? Because it’s always been in the back of my mind since I was a child! But anyway, I studied pre-law in college and I did actually want to be a lawyer until I was about halfway through the LSATs. Ha!
Q: If there was one member of your writing tribe who you could meet up with who would it be?
I’ve been lucky enough to meet a few of them already— and I get to meet two more next month!! My tribe is amazing, and I hope to one day meet them all! But, I’ll have to say Helen Wilder. She lives in Australia so I probably won’t be meeting her anytime soon haha. She’s been with me for a long time, and she’s one of my betas. I adore her so much.
Q: You just attended ApollyCon. Tell us your favorite moment.
Meeting so many people and some of my unicorn authors! I know that’s so general. But I love meeting new people and making friends. Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren is one of my favorite books to this day so meeting them was pretty freaking surreal.
Q: Unconditional’s plot is taboo. Do you ever worry that you’re going to offend your readership by crossing a line? —asking for a friend ;)
Yes. Haha I worried endlessly. Carmel Rhodes probably got sick of me. But it was a story I had to tell, and I’m so glad I did. But I think I handled my warnings well especially in my reader group, so those readers I had kind of knew what they were getting themselves into I think! Though I’m vague in the blurb, I tried to be as transparent as possible everywhere else because the last thing I’d ever want to do is offend someone. If any friends have any questions about this, drop me a message! ;)
Q: Plug it, girl! What do you love best about this book?
I feel like Cal and Maddie’s romantic story is a given. I love the way they love each other. And not just sexually haha. But, just so passionately and for lack of a better word, unconditionally. So aside from that!! Hehe. While I’ve gotten mixed reviews, I love Aria’s character. She really does want what’s best for Maddie and her family. She loves Cal like a brother and Maddie like a daughter and doesn’t want to see either of them hurt. I haven’t been called to write her story yet, but there’s a reason I left that open. ;)
Q: Best dessert you’ve ever had made with dark chocolate?
My old roommate used to make these dark chocolate ganache cupcakes. I watched… that counts, right?
Q: What’s your favorite social media (FB, Twit, IG, Pinterest, etc…)
I’m a social media junkie. It’s kind of a problem. But I’ll have to say Instagram is my favorite. Only 9000ish to go till my swipe up feature! Wooo!
Q: Family Question—Strangest encounter with a family member/friend who decided to read your books and how did you react. GO!
I’ve had two people I’m not close with text me out of the blue to ask if I write books which is wild! One was a girl I used to work with and I know she used to read a lot but still, I’m a minuscule fish in a HUGE pond— scratch that, ocean. She came across Bittersweet Surrender, Googled my pen name and found my Instagram. And this was a year ago when a very very small number of people in my real life knew what was going on. It was weird but exciting!
