In a recent Newsletter, I promised to highlight some of my favorite winter reads. Hope you find a few to add to your TBR!

The New Menopause by Mary Claire Haver, MD
Where was this book when I needed it? Answer: published. Which is why I'm telling every woman I meet who is over 40 that it exists. There is so much important information inside even for postmenopausal women. Truly, it is one of the most impactful nonfiction books that I've read since I stole—erm, borrowed—my aunt’s copy of the original "Our Bodies, Ourselves" from her bedroom at my grandmother's house when I was a teenager. #sorrynotsorry

Lost In the Dark by Denise Grover Swank
I made a deal with myself that in 2026 that I was buying more e-books directly from author websites. "Lost in the Dark" was my first chance. While the process is a little different from one-clicking, it works pretty seamlessly. Anyhow, I've read almost all of Denise Grover Swank’s mysteries. The Rose Garner books are my perennial favorites, but Harper Adams has a grown on me and I couldn't wait to pick this one up!

Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan
I’m the gal who replies to anyone who asks if I read "This Ends With Us" by saying, “Yes. But have you read the Hoops series by Kennedy Ryan?” The Kingmaker duet paperbacks are my only shelf trophies, and I (now that I'm of a certain age) didn't think Kennedy Ryan could possibly entertain me the way she had in those books… Then I read "Before I Let Go."

The Five Year Lie by Sarina Bowen
This is a fast-paced domestic thriller, set in Maine, by Sarina Bowen (who writes phenomenal hockey romance.) It’s got an underlying unrequited love trope, so it hits the mark for romance as well! I happened to find a copy at a secondhand bookshop and had devoured and shared it by the next day.

The House of Ink and Oaths by Autumn Jones Lake
I'd been looking forward to this book since Autumn Jones Lake announced she was writing a paranormal romance last fall. Not sure what to expect with Declan, she totally delivered on the standard she’s set for her heroes in her MC romances.
If you enjoy any of these books, drop me alibe and let me know... Happy reading!
